Casillas : Italy are in the same level as Spain

Casillas : Italy are in the same level as Spain. Iker Casillas opposed if Spain are favorite team in final Euro 2012 because he think Italy have same strength.

The champion holder are more favored to defend their trophy in final Euro 2012 in National Stadium, Kiev, on 1 July 2012. Italy squad also have said that La Furia Roja are more favored than they in the match, but Casillas did not have same idea with them.

‘I am grateful for their respect, but we also have same feeling to them,’ said the captain of La Roja squad.

‘Italy are great team and have shown that they are proper to be finalist with proving their quality. It is not surprise if they pass to final Euro 2012. They showed their own performance and character, and also they have great squads.’

‘Towards the match, we never think that if we are favorite team, it is even in contrary, I will say Spain and Italy are in same level.’ Added the goalkeeper of Real Madrid.

Casillas also said that the final would be their new history with being the first team winning three big tournament three times in a row. ‘In last four years we have achieved something which was never predicted by anyone.’

‘Penalty shoot out against Portugal was a gamble and we even could be eliminated, but we have passed to final and we will try to defend our trophy.’
