Denmark vs Portugal [Euro 2012 Result]; Varela goal led to Portugal victory 3-2. Entering the field with absolute mission, there is no option except victory, Portugal played all out in Denmark vs Portugal match since the referee blown his whistle. And Portugal succeeded to defeat Denmark with score 3-2 in Arena Lviv.
It was Pepe who scored the goal in 24’ and Helder Postiga who scored the second goal in 36’, and Portugal victory goal was scored by Silvestre Varela in 87’. Whereas Denmark goals was scored by Bendtner in 41’ and in 80’.
With the result Portugal keep their chances to pass to quarterfinals of Euro 2012 and the last macth against Netherlands will decide their fate in Euro 2012. It is also same for Denmark, although they were defeated in the match, they still have three points from Netherlands, and their last match also will decide their fate in Euro 2012.
Denmark got chance to score goal in 5’, Eriksen accepted the ball in penalty area and was not offside, but his shot still could be blocked by Pepe. He missed the chance.
Andersen could guarded his goal post well after deflecting the ball from Veloso crossing which sruck into the middle penalty area in 13’.
Portugal got chance to score goal trough Meireles and Ronaldo. Meireles shot the ball from the outer penalty area in 18’, but his shot could be blocked by Denmark player, and Ronaldo who tried to use the rebound ball, unfortunately his shot was still far away from the goal post.
Another chance for Portugal came in 23’. Starting Veloso free kick, he passed the ball into penalty area, Postiga run to reach the ball, but his effort this time was failed by Demark player and just resulted corner kick.
Finally Portugal led the score 1-0 after Pepe scored goal in 24. Starting from corner kick, the ball struck into penalty are, the ball was struck into Andersen goal post, after Pepe heading could not be cleared by the goal keeper.
Ronaldo got chance to double Portugal goal trough free kick from enough good position in 34’. But his free kick still hit Denmark player and the ball went out the field. The chance jsut resulted corner kick.
Starting from Nani passing from the right side of the field, He passed ball right into Denmark goal post, Postiga run to reach the ball, he shot it and the ball struck into the goal post. Portugal doubled their goal and led 2-0 in 36’ against Denmark.
Denmark showed good cooperation in 41’ to decrease the margin goal. Krohn-Dehllei passed the ball which struck trough Portugal goalkeeper, Patricio, and Bendtner who became the target of the pass, he was heading the ball into the goal post which has not been guarded. And Denmark changed the score 2-1.
Portugal attacked again after the goal of Bendtner. Nani sent crossing to Postiga in penalty area. Unfortunately he missed, and same with Ronaldo who missed the chance because Kjaer cleared the ball first before he reached it.
And the first half time ended with score 2-1 for Portugal superiority.
The goal-chance for Portugal came in 50’ trough Ronaldo. After receiving pass, he dribbled the ball from the left side into penalty area, Ronaldo just needed to defeat Andersen to score goal in this chancem but at that time Andersen did his job well, he anticipated the ball direction of Ronaldo shot.
Kvist threatened Portugal goal post, although his shot still struck several inches from the goal post.
Bendtner got chances again to score goal. After receiving the ball, he dribbled and created space to shot the ball, but this time his shot was still besides Portugal goal post.
Ronaldo missed again the goal-chance in 78’. After receiving briliant trough-pass from Nani, Ronaldo who passand the offside trap, he was in one on one situation with Denmark golkeeper, Andersen, but Ronaldo missed the chance, he shot the ball which struck besides the goal post.
Bendtner made Denmark tie the score 2-2 in 80’. Starting from crossing from the right side, the ball struck into penalty area and Bendtner heading could not be saved by Portugal goalkeeper.
Portugal victory goal came trough Silvestre Varela who entered the field three minutes before the goal. His shot in penalty area struck into Andersen goal post in 87’.
And the game ended with Portugal victory 3-2 against Denmark.
